More details about SPOP Hooray~!! (Friday, October 12, 2007 / 2:10 AM)
I believe you should know this by now... SPOP is a song writing competition.
I personally think it's great that we are having this competition because it brings the 幕后英雄 into the limelight.
From what i know is that, 16 original songs will be chosen. The song writers will get to choose any one from PSS1&2, CSS1&2 and Superband to sing their piece. Music videos will be recorded and the song will be aired on radio. I think it's an excellent platform for budding musicians.
So each week, you'll see a showcase of the songs PLUS! you will get to hear from the heroes who have laid such a great foundation for Singaporean musicians. For eg, 巫启贤。I went to his concert last Saturday. I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO impressed by him!!!!!! OH my, he's SUCH a GOOOOOOOOD singer. I was touched by every song! Almost want to cry already, then he'll sing some light hearted song. haha! Anyway, I think he has brought the attention of Chinese all over to Singapore, making them pay more attention to Singaporean music. Well, I know technically he's not Singaporean, he's Malaysian. But I think Singapore and Malaysia are kinda put together when it comes to labelling of Nationality. As in like... 新马. See it's together one. Spop will invite such heroes like him, Li Wei Song, Li Si Song, etc onto the program to talk about their 奋斗史. How cool right? I think it will be very inspiring.
Next Tuesday, 16th October, will be the 1st show, which will be a SPOP Concert! I think it's really exciting leh!!! A whole lot of singers, from the very fresh CSS2 to PSS to FM Music peeps to very established musicians, will be coming together, performing in this concert! WHEE~~~~ As for me, I'll be singing the opening theme song with Daren, Diya, Nat, Geraldine, Renfred, Keely, ZhengNing and Benjamin. We are dancing too. I'm sooo gonna make sure my camera has fully charged battery, empty memory card, so that I can snap loads of pictures that day. So many pple I wanna take pictures with!!!
Cant wait.......
