Aiyah, i really really really think 唱歌是不能比的!!!!!
I'm not sure if competing makes the music better leh. sigh... but then it's the competition that makes entertainment.
it's a conflicted world.
I read
李杰宇's blog. And I thought he was really really sweet. He was the one whom Diya lost to.

So I was a little what-the-hell when diya lost to him. I thought they probably should be 平手.
Anyway, I was really glad that Diya still managed to show Taiwan what she's really good at! Well, not everyone 可以看得出 Diya's strength. But I was very very very 欣慰 that at least 李杰宇看出來了。It's not easy for one to see the strength of your competitor. Most of the time, people just look for the flaws in their competitor. 佩服！這個人的度量是大的！也證明他是熱愛音樂的。
可惜的是，反而是評審沒有和李杰宇一樣的看法啦。
所以，迪雅啊~ please don't be disheartened! You did well. REALLY!!! *slap into your mind* 更何況，機會還有的。不要緊盯著這一次的機會。我們还會有別的機會展現我們的實力的！！But next time, we will be even more prepared! And we will be more focused! And we will 更把握我們的機會！

Sigh... gloomy weather, gloomy 心情。好不容易想来“清境”清静一下。你看，应该是这样的风景。。。
可是现在又起雾又下雨。一切都变得蒙胧。
sigh....
By now, most of you might have heard... Diya is out of the PK competition. But actually hor, she already did very well. She got through the 1st round. Then she sang a 2nd song. And she lost to her PK rival by only 1 point. And it's a little unfair leh. They "ding ding ding" the score for diya 1st. Then that guy... 李杰宇's score hor, it stopped at the same score then suddenly "ding" one more point from 小胖老师, who in my opinion, did not give very fair comments.
Erm... I really dun agree with what he says about diya. He commented that Diya's voice has no 辩识度!!! (HELLO???!?!?!!) Then at the backstage, he asked Diya "who do you think you sound like?", and said he can't think of anyone who sounds like Diya. And then he went on to advise Diya to look for a reference. I don't understand why la. Isn't it great that Diya sounds unique? Sigh.. Aiyah I dun understand what the judges are thinking la. And I think it's all about the programme also la. I believe that there were a lot of factors considered, that has nothing to do with singing.
Anyway, I secretly took a picture of Diya on the famous 星光 stage! hahaha... sshhh.. dun tell people.
To my dear friend, a lot of people will give you 马后炮 comments and feedbacks. There's no way to block them one. People just like to think they know better. But the fact is... they might not. Listen to what you think is useful and filter away those that are hurting and not helpful. Like 选错歌 that kind is totally useless. If you had done that song well, then no one would have told you that you 选错歌.
But please don't be affected by this small setback. In fact, most people think that it's a setback but I don't. I think that you have done a great job, even 小玲老师 (click
here for her interview) said that “对我来说她还是有实力的。这是一个比赛，输了并不代表你不行。”
Life is a super long race.
Sometimes, we are leading the race.
Sometimes, we get tired and we lag behind a little.
Sometimes, we fall. But we have to pick ourselves up.
Sometimes, we have to take a break to run the next mile.
And no one can ever predict who's gonna finish the race 1st. In fact, there's no need to judge who's doing better than who. Because the race should be a competition with yourself and most importantly, I just wish to enjoy this race.
我们应该追求的是幸福，而不是名誉金钱。
It might sound very idealistic. I'm not saying I'm above money and fame. I just mean don't focus on money, fame, achievement, reputation, etc. Let's focus on happiness 吧.
输也要输得开心。穷也要穷得开心。

WAH! 我又要去台湾了！
Do you still remember I said that being the No4, I might get to go Taiwan for the PK competition? That is because Taiwan side TV program people decide that they might add on the number of contestants from Singapore. Well, the news is out and I'm not the one. booooooohooooo....
But it's ok. Never mind la. I'm fine. I very 释怀了。I know He has other plans for me. =D
Anyway, my dear friend really needs me. So does the other friend who is going with her. So does my sister who is going too!!!! Aiyoh, so many people going, how can I not go right? To be honest, I really struggled la. Because my mum was very stressed about the recession. I know that the economy is really bad. I am affected too ma. I said NO for the longest time. Until someone found some kind sponsor for me! whee~~~~
Then something good happened at home too. Cannot say what! haha.. So now I get to go!!!!
I'm going to be the best 助理 for Diya lo! whee~~~ But they haven't confirmed if I can follow to the rehearsal. :S They have already said no. But we are going to ask again. Aiyo, not like I am so hardup to step into the competition's studio or the TV station lo. I just want to be there for my friend okay~!
Plus... have you heard? I bought a VIDEO CAMERA for DIYA!!!!! woooohaaaa~~! Well, I'm a poor struggling artist indeed, but how can we miss out on the 1st 海外演出经验. I just have a feeling that this is the beginning of something great. And I think that the ability to capture all these memories in video is priceless. PLUS!! This video camera is awesome at a VERY affordable price! Really! Even for poor struggling singer, I can afford it. :D So happy to have found it! And I have always wanted a video camera!!! So although I buy for her, I get to play with it too!
This is our new toy~ I really hope I get to bring it to the Xingguang Show to shoot all the behind-the-scenes for you to see. Wish me luck!!!!
And of course, to my dear friend, all I wanna say is.... ENJOY!!!! No stress yo, just enjoy yourself. Like you always do. And we will all enjoy you enjoying your performance. woo!

Aiyoh, Missy Goh is RIGHT!!!!! I haven't congratulate MISSY TAN DI YA for getting into Top 3!!!!!
What a terrible friend.
CONGRATS TAN DI YA!!!!! You won AGAIN!!!! ggrrr... ok la, I forgive you again. Because I know what you can do, more than you do. The week before when you were down and depressed, thinking that you can't sing. I never for a second stopped to think that you can't sing. Ok, let's just say that your singing is not the amei/ alin big voice, big lung sort. But 辨识度 super high. And there's a very nice touching tone to your voice. But I think your best quality is your stage presence. That is something that can't be trained!!!! And you have it la... that is sooooo 强!!! You are soooo bright on stage my friend. 那天，看着你在台上唱着找自己，我好感动。因为我看得出来你找到了。You are indeed the light of the world.
Anyway, thanks for being such a great friend. Thanks for throwing back all the 安慰的话 back at me the following week.

Did you read today's news about TPB?
I'm really surprised by the papers reaction to this whole lip synch-ing saga. I don't even know why it's a saga! Did you really not expect? Oops. i better say no more about this.
What I really wanted to say is DYT's respond to the papers! It was very well said. I was very impressed. As an audience, I would be able to respect what DYT has said about pre-recording because the company wanted him to focus on acting and dancing parts. There are one thousand and one thing to focus on when we are on stage. Especially as lead actors. So I can understand if he decides a few days before the show to pre record his singing parts and probably lessen his burden just a little. I'm not saying that I can accept lip synch-ing. But I can accept his explanation. It's really not easy for non-singers to be thrown on stage and expect to do what we do you know? hahaha...
Wah, lately because of TPB i have a lot of material to blog about siah. haha.
Anyway, I would also like to say that for everyone who has read diya's comment on the papers.... please visit her blog for the full "story". She was interviewed when she was a sleepy head. I think it's easy to misinterpret what she "said" in the papers. So maybe you should read her blog yourself. (her blog link is by the sidebar)

Actually, it was overall a very good experience for me. I know, you must have read a lot of negative report on this production. I will not respond to that la. Every one has their right to review it to their honest opinion. And I'm ok with that.
But I really had a lot of fun! LOOK!!!

Sigh, I was really upset when Chen Tai Ming's mic was off at one point, the scene were the 3 kaypohs were disturbing Yue Niang. That part, Tai Ming's lines were funny lo!!!!
ARRRGHHH!! 如花！！！
Then I became one too! Oh so happy to see Pierre Png. He just pop by to say hi to everyone. Rem? He was my Big Brother in Defining Moment, and i am so charmed by him!
The last Tech Run before the actual show. Look at Ann!!! She's so chio even without make up!!!! Some say she was the prettiest in the Peranakan Ball. And I would have to AGREE!!!! woo! hot!
Miss Abracadebra is soooo sensitive to camera la!!! It was really super duper fun working with her!

The endless high pitched yam sengs. We also did some 4-part yamsengs with Olivia! hahaha... that was really funny.

I think he has a very bright future! I think.... he is the sort of person who would be easily misunderstood as "arrogant" or "attitude". Err... actually he has an attitude la. But I think that's really quite attractive for a male artiste leh. hur hur hur...
But he's definitely NOT arrogant la. He needed a little bit of warming up, but he's really fun to "play" with. Diya, Ann and him played all sorts of games lo! (I'm not a gamer, just watch and laugh). It included, scissors-paper-stone (advanced mode), hei-bai-pei, arm wrestling, staring game, etc.
HAHA! She's really light!

I also heard from someone that the choos had one of the loudest cheers during curtain call. I bet it's all of you right? All my dear friends who were there to support us. 真是受宠若惊！
And most of all, Thank you Miss Pilates for being such a great friend. Seriously, life wouldn't have been half as fun without you. You are a walking entertainment! hahaha... And you bring joy and laughter to everyone around you! I always wonder, how do you do it? How do you just jump into any setting and fill it with joy and positron! Oh and I think Poh Choo did a GREAT JOB!! Even if the papers don't seem to recognize it. =) You were SOOOO GREAT!! The part where you try to separate the couple, I always wanna 笑场 lo!!!
I would say, for me, it's not the result that matter. It's always the journey that meant more to me... 1 year later, the bad reviews will fade away, but the sweet memories of this production would always be with me.

Wow, it's all over the papers. Seriously, all papers. woo!
That's the impact that The Peranakan Ball had.
But yah, it's not great reviews. I'm really ok with us not getting great reviews. Some will like it, some will hate it. But what I can't stand is.... what i'm really quite pissed off with is.... i quote them "singer olivia ong was the only one who sang 'live' in her rendition of various songs including the main theme song." Excuse me!!!!!!! Were you even there?????? rendition of various songs???? She sang ONE song, the drama theme song. And the worst part... WE SANG LIVE TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAARRGGHHH!!!!!!! I hate being accused of lip synch-ing. I'm a professional singer and that's a big insult! You claim that the lip synching is so obvious and then you didn't realise that we sang live!!!
ARGH!!!! I can't get over this. You put our faces (diya, jo tan and me) big big (half a page!) and then you said only Olivia sang live?????? It's a slap on our faces lo! All 3 of us are full time singers can! aarghh!!!!!!
Really quite pissed.

The next big thing is... Lil Nyonya Musical!
And we are in it! whee~
2 days ago, we woke up early in the morning to shoot the TVC. I wonder if it's out yet.
As you would have seen in the drama, all the nyonyas have buns. Hahaha, so the hair stylist had to bun up Diya and my short hair! You cannot imagine how much spray was on us man...
I can't believe they managed to make diya look like this!!!! HAHAHAHAHA! pretty right? Well, she's acting as the "hot favourite" in our Aunty's eyes.
Have you seen the TVC? I can't wait to see it!!! The Baba House is such a beautiful place! With our colorful costumes, and beautiful choreography, I can't wait!
Ok, drop a msg if you have seen it ok? Better still if it's on youtube or something~!

Countdown to 2009!
This is the 2nd time we did a countdown in vivocity. And it's just lovely. I love the skyline. I love the little water garden on the rooftop just next to the stage. If I had a boyfriend, I would go to the rooftop there, 好浪漫...
Did you know, why it never rained for mediacorp outdoor shows???
Haha, can you guess what they are?
I don't know how it works. But they are always there when there's an outdoor show. And they managed to keep the skies clear for us. =)
Diya had to get ready real early because she has another countdown show before the mdc one. So she was rushing like mad. She was so worried about a jam. Everyone tells her that it's very difficult for her to get back in time because there will surely be a jam. But hey, it was clear road every where man. haha!
These pretty things are what makes us pretty... haha.
Here's Diya with Keely and Ivy for 宇宙小姐. I thought D was really cool and seh~ like ella? haha. Then keely must have been selina and Ivy was hebe. correct? haha... but of cos, they are not SHE! they are themselves!

I had purposely worn my "long time no see" top. Since leaving mediacorp, I haven't seen my friends for so long! Not just the artiste, the makeup artist, the stylist, the wardrobe ladies, crew, etc! Including Jesseca. Some times, I agree to do mediacorp shows just so that I can catch up with my friends. =)
And that, is a great way to start the year.
err, yah but after that it hasn't been very pretty. BUT it's getting better!!!! I'll super happy girl soon! Thank you taggers, friends, family for all the concern! I'm sure it'll be better after CNY, after the mooooo comes in and give me a boost! haha.

Did you attend?? Did you tune in??? Did you watch it on TV???
I went to the event. WOO! I think it was a great show! I thought this year had REALLY good performances. For a start, Diya, Wu Jiahui, Fion and Zhengliang kick off the show real well! Although I thought the song could have been a lil longer. Well I was soooo busy shouting that I forgot to take any picture. But if you didn't watch, Diya was REALLY good on stage. She was the most "seh". I've always admired her showmanship. must learn from her...
Then subsequently, many others sang. I thought Wu Jiahui did a superb job. His song, 雖然我願意 is a VERY VERY difficult song to sing. But he did it VERY well that night. Really happy for him that he won the newcomer award. I sincerely believe that with his voice, he will go far. 加油！
My favourite performance has to be MAYDAY!!!! Without fail, they always got me jumping around. I was wearing a glam dress, but I still can't control myself. I just HAVE to stand up and bounce like a 小歌迷 especially when they perform 離開地球表面. It SOOOO good! They are really great fun to watch. And I LOVE their new song!!!!!
My other favourite performance is Eason!!!! He's so 放 on stage. He's so natural and so himself. I really admire performers like that. He immerse himself into his own music.
What a great night. To me, it's not so much, who won what, but it's just a great opportunity to put a bunch of great performers in one night. And this year's award show was a GREAT show thanks to all the 實力派歌手.

Ok, another to report is that I'll be performing at Korean Pop Night 2008. Oh my, for the 1st time, I'm going to sing at the Indoor stadium. I'm actually quite nervous , just thinking about it. Anyway, this concert is a part of the Korea Festival 2008. Several Korean artistes will be coming to Singapore to perform as well, Like Andy and Jun Jin from ShinHwa. I'll be singing 疼傻人. With the Indoor stadium sound system, it should be quite shiok to scream the song out! woo! haha. I'm REALLY looking forward.

So it'll be great if I can see some familiar faces.
